What do I need to bring to sign up?
-
Please bring your Proof of Identity, User ID & Password for your bank in the U.S., and any current bills.
To sign up, please have ready:
- Proof of Identity (CAC Card, Military ID, or Passport)
- A recent invoice or bill (lease agreement, utility bill, etc.)
- Access to your bank account information. (you'll connect it securely through Plaid during sign-up)
We use Plaid — a secure, industry-standard service trusted by major financial apps — to connect to your bank.
During sign-up, you will log in to your bank directly through Plaid's secure interface. One Payment never sees, collects, or stores your bank User ID or Password.
Forgot you User ID or Password?
If you have forgotten your bank User ID or Password, please reset them directly with your bank before signing up. One Payment does not handle bank credential recovery.
-
How long does the sign-up process take?
-
If you have all the required documents ready, the process takes only about 10 minutes.
-
Can someone else sign up for me?
-
Currently, sign-up must be done in-person at our office to ensure the security of your account setup.
-
How does One Payment work?
-
We debit dollars from your bank account in the U.S. through Plaid's secure connection. Our partner bank handles the currency conversion and international transfer to Japan. Our office then ensures your local bills are paid on time.
-
When do you withdraw money from my account?
-
We normally make withdrawals on military paydays (stateside time), typically on the 1st and 15th of each month. This ensures you have funds available and helps avoid overdrafts.
-
How much does the service cost?
-
Our monthly service fee varies depending on the plan you choose, typically ranging from $5 to $ 10. Please contact our office for specific pricing details.
-
How much are you withdrawing from my bank account each payday?
-
For fixed costs (like rent), the amount is consistent based on the current exchange rate. For variable bills (like utilities), we enter the billing amounts as we receive them. You can always contact us to confirm the exact withdrawal amount in local currency.
-
What happens if I move or leave Japan?
-
Just let us know as soon as you have your move-out date. We will assist you in canceling the service or moving your account if you are relocating within our service area.
-
How can I check my payment details?
-
We send statement details to your email beforehand.
-
What if I change my bank account in the U.S?
-
Please contact us immediately to update your banking information. We need the new details at least 5 business days before your next payday to ensure a smooth transition.
